hey fellas and ladies..i know it seems that im always on here only when i need something but thats what mc owners do right. well my mechanic says my fuel sending unit is bad cause my guage doesnt read correctly, anyhow what does the entire unit consist of..cause he says it comes with a fuel pump but i cant find that anywhere on the net..i just dont want to replace something thats not needed...thanks again

The fuel sender comes as an assembly with a fuel pump. It gets a little pricey. If you pm me your vin number, I can get you a price.

hey thanks  i wasnt sure he was telling me the truth or not..he quoted me a price of 350.00 for parts and labor...it was the best price i got...is that a fair price you think?

I say so, took about 3 years for Dave to change his fuel pump...so that is about 100 bucks a year, not bad.

 Wrong car Joe, And that is only a supply pump, the mechanical one is still there.

And Jay, I think the Fuel sending unit may still be available separately. I just got one 2 weeks ago for an Impala. I think they may be the same

so i maybe getting screwed but at the same time its probably a good idea to get the fuel pump done as well considering its the original one @ 218,000 miles. hell alot of my car is original. i heard those factory pumps are poop anyhow so maybe i got lucky it lasted this long. maybe ill have him give me the old one for a replacement just incase this one doesnt last after warrenty or would they might try to keep it for a core

If you have that many miles, YES replace the entire pump assembly!!!

yeah probably a good idea...dont want to have to go in again for something i could have gottan done the same day..pretty impressive huh to have that pump work for that long eh?
