well i picked a cam/lifter/rockers and new headers for the car.

with this set up i'll be the same motor as the GM ZZ430 crate motor is.
i got the GM Hot Cam.
here are some pics of my goodies.
will start working on it in a few weeks.

Very nice. Those headers look like chrome. I think you need some clear valve covers to show off the rockers. To nice to hide.....Should feel like a whole new car when your done....

thanks. there is a set of clear valve covers on ebay, but for $175.00 i can get something else i need. but i do agree they look good hopefully they work well.

Well i got it up in the air and got my A$$ handed to me removing and installing the headers.
here is a pic of it up on stands.


here is what is looks like before i started and the old headers




here is one partially torn down for the cam and all.






and here are a few with the PITA headers installed, but still need some more clearance issues to be dealt with.



will work on it some more during the week.

got the energy suspension greasable sway bar bushing in last night.


need to heat the header up and tweak it a bit.


brakes lines are close but i think it'll be fine


but they tuck nicely under the car.


soon to be replace old ugly cross member with a new Iceman double hump crossmember. it will be here tomorrow or friday.

got my new crossmember from ICeman


painted it


took the old one out and yuck what a difference.



installed and it gave be more header clearance since it lowered the trans down a bit.


took some stuff to JohnS's house this weekend to get powder coated
here the stuff is after blasting it and wet sanding them.




here is John putting a coat on the valve covers

will work on it some more this week.

well it took 5 different sets of intake gaskets to get my intake bolted up.
will get more done this weekend if i have time. i have a bunch of other stuff going as well.

i got my new braided hoses put on and the plug wires all cleaned up and routed. need the stuff back fro powder coating to finish the motor off.

well i got the exhaust all done and tweaked the headers off the frame. now i just need my fedex package to finish it.
a special thanks to JohnS for the exhaust. i only needed to shorten the inlet pipes for it to fit my car.

here is the old ugly crap.


and the much better looking newer exhaust


mocking up the pipes to trim them.

the Xpipe on the car.




these are the same mufflers i had on it. 20 yr old 40 series flowmasters. i had to sawsall all the old welds off sop i could just slip them onto the pipe.

took them to the neighbor to weld the turndowns in.



here is it all done. turned out d**n nice. also thanks to Franky for his help.

all the parts came from being powder coated. thanks to JohnS
i got them all on and it looks great.
then i painted the fan shroud that i bought from Del....Thank you Del
i painted the rad support(don't laugh to hard at the sheets i used)
will fire it up and go over things on Wednesday.
