think its possible to get a gbody down to 3100 range with a cage? my race rx7 plans fell apart due to stupid rules.  i need interior, stock fuel tank and stock appering body parts.  what i'm thinking is gut all ac and heat, manual steering, light weight battery, electric water pump etc.

my gn is 4000... it'll be around 3700 i'll assume. it wont be my gn i hack apart. the rules state 3300lbs. it has to have a cage too.. my chassis guy is the best ( in my book), his cages add around 15t0lbs.

10pt cage or 8pt?

Rob it can be done, or at least under 3300 with out a prob.

If I take a few things out of the car(trunk kit)=150lbs. I'm about 3200, with out me in it.

I want to say the g-body's were around 3400-3600lbs but i'm not sure.i got mine down to 4000 dropped almost 250lbs not really trying  the wheels should shave another 30-40lbs.I don't see any reason you shouldn't be able to knock 400lbs or more.Heck the a/c system is almost 100lbs it self.

Mine weighed in at 3410 a few years ago, and I haven't tried to lighten it yet. I'm sure pulling a few things out should drop the weight down

the bad thign is.. this is all for a buick.. they're heavy.. mine weighs 4000lbs with out me in it.

tom its going to be a 10pt.. might as well get it all over with at once *rolleyes* lol right off the bat i'm thinking, seats, sound detning stuff under the carpet, NO ac or heat, alum. rad suport (if romanski coughs his up..),alum brake drums, drag lite wheels.

i wanted to do a monte bad. but.. we looked in the rules and its sketchy to see if they'll aloud the GN motor in the car. and it has to be factory style fuel system and i'm too lazy to run fuel line. lol

oh.. again NOT my gn.. the hunt will be on very shortly.
