because it's easy to work with and i have the tools for it. he didn't want to spend the money on the original steel one.

the nylon will be fine. it's on every new vehicle on the road.

Thats cool, I thought maybe you were going to convert it to fuel injection or something. I know it's lighter and easier to work with than steel lines. Plus it won't rust out. I never thought of using it on Matt's car when I did all his lines. I just bought stainless to match his brake lines and now he has stainless trans lines too.

well the motor and trans is in.... what a pita. motor dropped right in but the trans didn't want to go in without a fight. had it up ip the but the dowels would not fit all the way into their holes. so back out it came to ream the hols open a bit and also sanded the dowels down a bit. got it back up and on the dowels the second time and all tightened up.
but the trans mounts had to be modified by oblinging the holes a bit in the mount to keep everything aligned correctly.

well i got the correct spark plugs and got the gapped and installed. the got the distributor turned in the correct direct. then installed the cap and rotor. then the fun begain installing the valve covers and finding studs i could use to help ghold the gaskets. pontiac uses 5/16 instead of 1/4 threads.
then i ran the new wires and added some wire looms. it turned out pretty good.
waiting for the trans lines to get here and the last piece for the e-brake set up. then i'll get the alternator brackets and throttle linkage ordered.

well i spent about 8 hours or so on the damn firebird. it is getting closer to the door to leave.
finally figured out the alt/steering brackets. they're off a 71 and not for the 67.
got the heater hoses ran
ran a copper line for the oil guage
ran the temp line
made a fuel line and got the carb and all done
modified the coil bracket to fit the intake.
made a bracket forthe return spring.
fixed the alternator wires.
fixed the distributor ground wire
got the fan on
got the ac condensor in
painted the radiator
went to blled the brakes and the bleeder broke off the first wheel cylinder....run to autozone and get new wheel cylinder bolt it and the one bolts snaps after being put in part way. so i take it back out and drill the broken bolt out. get it back on the car and the vacuum bleeder is going and nothing is coming out.
so we manually blled it and guess what....there is a damn hole in the line that runs from the front to the back......i can't win.....

Well after almost 4 months it is on the ground and 1 foot closer to the door to get the hell out of here.(i hope)
got the rad hoses on and had to redo the coil mount because of the throttle rod. heater hoses are done... what fun that is without pulling the wheelwell out.

got the lower windshield mldg on andthe cowl panel in.....what fun putting something together that i didn't take apart... finding the right screws sucked... but it is correct now.

but she looks so much better on the ground and with her hood on.

will work on the nose and other stuff this week.(MAYBE)

cleaned all the over spray off the bumpers/ cleaned the chrome supports for the nose. swapped out the 160mph speedo and replaced all the cluster bulbs.
finished wiring the gauges and cleaned up the chrome on the vent windows.
also included a shot of the ignition cylinder that i had to drill out because he lost the keys.

got the nose all together and on the car last night.....what fun it is trying to figure out how all that goes when you didn't take it apart. we got the front down pipes on the manifolds as well. wantedto make sure they fit correctly.also fixed another 2' section of brake line that got a hole in it from them moving it back and forth during the body work. now i need to bleed them again. need to get some stuff done on my car soon and get the house stuff finished.

well it finally has left the garage.
still need the driveshaft and shifter, but he wanted to take it to his barn for storage for now. not bad i made $1,800.00 in labor over the winter working on it. But i am glad to see it leave.
even if i did have to push it up onto the tow dolley.

and my empty garage until i put mine back in. have another monte coming for a guy to do some work on soon. also will get started on Katie's monte now.
