Recently my voltage gradually fluctuates between 13+ and 8 volts. I was in a long line of traffic in the heat last weekend, (sitting at entrance to Olcott),  so I periodically shut the car off. At one point, my battery was dead, (INSERT PROFANITY!),  when I tried to restart. After a jump, the voltage was back at 13+ and the battery was fine.
Also, I have a Mark viii fan.
Could this be the alternator failing or is my battery on the way out?

fluctuates with the car running? or off?

if running, Im guessing the alt or regulator

if when off, battery

Frank it sounds a lot like your voltage regulator is on it's way out. It is part of the Alternator, so I'd say it's a good bet to replace the Alternator.

Frank. I think the whole engine needs to be replaced. I can swap you for my LS motor and repair yours. LOL!!! Hey, I tried.
