Great Job Matt.... I've got a brand new shrinker & stretcher set as well as a new bead roller and dies I'd be willing to trade towards some much needed body and paint work on my Monte.........

I pass that along John, He has been in the restoration field for 5 years now, so he might be interested.

Managed to get the door jambs cleaned and painted.

Passenger side

Hope to get the seat out and the vynal flooring out this weekend and clean up the floor boards and spray them with bed liner. Plus I need to finish the tailgate, the light bar and the inner fenderwells.

Matt's hoping to spray the truck someting this week. Then the assembly starts

Well, couldn't get the seat bolts to budge. So I pealed back the flooring the best I could and wire wheeled the loose rust and old paint. once I cleaned that off, I sprayed the floor with bed liner. The stuff covers nicely, then laid the floor back in place and reassembled the doors and sill plates.

And Matt did some sanding on the body. He says final block sanding tomorrow and possibly paint on Sunday. If not, then Tuesday after work. I can't wait!! Here is what she looks like currently

LOL! Get in line! He's already 2 months deep in side jobs. Plus he has my friends Trans Am coming in a few weeks. That will be a 2 year restoration.

That sucks Scott, I have been trying to fight off the rust on my Montes as well. The 01 has 2 bad spots and a third stating, the 86 has 1 spot I jeep touching up.

I'm off to see what he's done. He said it should be alone color in about an hour. I can't wait to start putting to back together next week.

First pics of the new shine!

Blacked out the radiator support and the tow hooks

New Dorman mirror installed. Thanks again Jim. I'm probably going to need the passenger side one soon.

The tailgate and tail lights installed

The rest of the bed is back together

I took some chip guards off a Ford F-150. I think they look pretty good.

And I finished bed lining the new inner fender wells. With luck they will be going in this weekend

I can't wait to wash it and go over the whole truck with the clay bar and hit it with the buffer. Probably middle next week

Well, she's home! Thursday night washed it and started cleaning it, but it got dark pretty fast.

Got up this morning and headed back to the garage to change the pitman arm. I figured it would have taken at least and hour. Nope! less than 25 minutes! I cut a groove into the old arm so that the air hammer wouldn't bounce around. I put the puller on, snugged it up and hit it with the air hammer. fell right off! That never happened to me before. So I took the extra time to get the skid plates cleaned up and put back on

After that, Matt and I headed to the junkyard to get some parts for a side job he has coming up. And that's when I got hit by a Tornado. Literally! Matt, popped the air cleaner off a 89 Chevy truck while I was checking out the interior. Called me and threw me this:

I laughed! Explained to him the theory behind it and what not. Then I figured, What the heck? I'd like to see if it really works. The cashier at the junkyard looked at it and told us take it, Were regulars, LOL! So for free, I'll see what it does.

Then tonight after dinner, I reinstalled the center caps, light bar, license plate mount and the lower valance. It's 11pm and I'm beat! But I'm really happy with the progress

Thanks guys! I had some fun driving it today. I have to say, that Tornado does seem to give it some more bottom end But it also made my fuel mileage plummet!

Kevin. I'll pass. I love this truck to much to let anyone else have it

The other day, after mowing the weeds and cleaning the fish ponds, I decided to clean out the garage. Well, I came across the stainless exhaust tip I bought 2 years ago in the middle of winter figuring I'd install it when it got warm. Yeah right!! Had an inch of dust on it. So I put it on. Also came across a couple GM Mark of excellence badges.

After that the truck looked so filthy. So I washed it.

I moved it over to the lawn to get it out of the way, Pulled the 86 out and parked it next to it

Then Yesterday Jimmy arrived in town and brought me a new passenger side mirror. Installed it tonight.

Never did clean the garage.....

Got the cap back on yesterday. Washed and quick waxed her today before the snow flies. Then took some quick pics for the insurance company. They said they needed fresh pics as I haven't supplied any in 4 years.

Seeing what my truck looked like 4 years ago, I think they will be expecting to say we need to drop the collision and other stuff. Hoping after they see these, they will leave it as is.

That's quite a transformation, Dave. Looks great and that exhaust tip alone is worth keeping the collision!! biggrin

Thanks guys! Sucks that it's filthy right now, LOL!

Kevin, the LED bar is great! I used it to light the yard and rake the leaves last week.
