Bought from another memeber, put on my new left hand 8. Second one going on a fuse panel cover thats currently drying.(painted it victory red)

Finally finished installing my new cold air intake, made by a fellow monte friend :)

it was a very tight fit, especially the pipe that goes to the intake tube...both are the same diameter..took alot of heating, cooling & stretching & don't forget b*tching to pull it over. Wrapped tube in Thermotec heat wrap to keep it cooler.

Very Nice Job Jenn. Very Clean engine bay. The red fuse box cover looks good with the #8 on there.

But sadly, the yellow battery looks out of place. Maybe some black spray paint???

I know...the battery kills it. I wasn't going to dim myself down on quality just for looks.

hmm...I got cans of plasti-dip.. :D I'll give that a shot on my next day off. Sucks now. that same battery is no longer a 'yellow top' its now a all black battery.. got them in 2 weeks after I bought the thing.disbelief

Leave the lights on to drain it, then warranty it.

Jen,
Did you notice any horsepower gains after you added the cold air intake system..?

Have you upgraded the exhaust yet, and IF you have...Did you notice any horsepower gains?

Did you have any issues swappin out your coil packs..?

CAI and exhaust will only get you single digit HP gains.

CAI is best for lowering KR which will let you mod further and make more power with the added mods

Exhaust is mostly a cosmetic / sound mod on these cars. The factory systems flows pretty well with the exception of the downpipe.

Real gains on the L67 will come with a pulley drop and tune provided all the supporting mods are in place.

I had the MSD coils since my last car, a 93 regal with the 3800. I bought them instead of buying the garbage ones sold at auto part stores(not trusting them!). I got them just 2 months before getting rid of that POS. I immediately switched them out when I got the monte so I didn't get a chance to see any difference. Aside from any gains, nothing really besides sound. Just added insurance to make sure I do everything right when I drop a pulley size.
And car came with a pre-installed aftermarket cat-back exhaust.

Ps, only downside to a CAI on the L67= sounds like a noisy vacuum when you first start up.
