This is probably a silly question, but do I need to use a special window glass cleaner on aftermarket tinted windows, or will any glass cleaner be OK? This is the first time I've tinted the windows on my car, and I'm a little worried about damaging the film when I clean the windows.

Castle makes a window cleaner just for tinted and plastic windows, works great! But like Rob said, make sure there is no amonia! it will cause the tint to lift over a period of time.

yeah usually happens. I usually stick to places that have been around a long time. Chances are, they arent going anywhere. Had mine done at American Auto Sound & Security in Stony Brook or Setauket (forget which) on Belle Meade Rd., almost 5 years and it still looks like new.
could be cheap tint, the dyes in cheaper tint turn purple over time.
Uh oh... I could be in trouble here by my trying to save money on the tint job. There's a well-known and established place in Mt. Vernon (Lorenzo's, I think) that wanted something like $225-250 to do all the windows except the windshield, but I thought that was high so I found a place on Boston Post Rd in the Bronx that did it for $100. Now I've gotta hope that my windows don't turn purple, or the film doesn't start bubbling before I get rid of the car!

yeah, I paid close to $300 for mine, learned long ago, there is truth in the saying "you get what you pay for" I may buy my pants at Walmart, but my car parts are all top shelf (when I can afford it)
