Wednesday August 19th - Chris called for my info. Address, Full Name, etc....asked where I left the keys
Friday August 28th, I called, Secretary said they were all at Carlisle, Call back Monday
Monday September 3rd - I called, Chris informed me they took down the pan and there were lotsa metal shavings in it, they were going to take down the unit in the afternoon and get back to me with more info.
Just got a PM From Perry (BBEngineer) from him, he was there to visit my car and he informed me I destroyed the input planetary... Tommy is putting one from an 08 SS (5.3L) so it should be alot stronger..
(I am hoping he means 2007, cause they didn't make a monte in 2008 :)
Apparently the only time I get updates is when I call...So I called and the best update ever= Car is done....lol....speaking to Chris he couldn't give me to much more info. then that, I have to talk to Tommy about exactly what was wrong...and he was working on the car, so I skipped that...
My dilema is I can possibly get the car tommorrow, but if I do it may mean no li for me :( I will keep ya's updated as soon as I get info!
Thanks everyone! It's good to have the Monte back under it's own power, and once again Thank You to everyone who made this happen! Much Appreciated...
Rob Dynotech is on it's last leg, most don't even know it's still in exhistance, it has been 2 years and without Eric there, I high doubt they'd give me a dime back...Oh well water under the bridge...
We shall see about Cecil and the monte...
One cool thing is ecs has the latest state of the art technology that actually takes a picture of the person driving the car when the worst of it happened...here's a scan of what they sent me:
HA JUST KIDDING DAVE!!!! lmao...sorry I had toooo...lol...
WOW, Joe I've seen that kind of damage before. You'll need to have your whole car checked out now. That damage was caused by carbide toothed termites, you may have a nest of them in there. Probably hid in the turbo and started branching out from there.
Best advice I can offer is to pull the turbo and intercooler out and send them to me. I'll thoroughly check them out for you.

Funniest thing ever was when I was cleaning the car (Yes believe it or not I cleaned it) I had the hood open, and in on of the air duct compartments on the bottom side of the hood was a body of a yellow jack...I was like great what else could be in there lol....
Sitting out at my house for a week Joe, there is no telling what kind of little critters took up residence. Probably got a family of Daddy long Legs in there somewhere. They like to nest in the brakes and suspension. You'll know come spring.... nothing worse than driving down the road and have one drop down in front of you on a web.... BTDT, makes for a wild ride :)
Funny thing, Cream Ridge NJ is also a big wooded, farm land area..on one of the back roads while driving down in the GTO....Dad smell's something and is like phew what's that smell...I was like skunk...he's like how'd you know that, I Laughed! lol....
And Dave that's an easy answer the Fun way! COME ONNNNNN!!! lol

03 GTI... eh it gets from point a to b
A friend of mine told me about this place after I went to ecs....If down the line I need one again, I may go with them....it's getting harder and harder to find people who do these cars, so that is definitely a keeper....
Update....I had the monte out for 45 minutes yesterday...30 minutes into the drive it felt like the Transmission was misshifiting....coulda just been me, but after it happened the car went straight home and into the garage....I will take it out again once I regain my composure to see if it indeed is the car or mee......
On a high note though, I finally ordered the front tire so I can get rid of the one with the bubble...
then I just need to see if my power steering pump or Rack And pinion needs to be replaced (Again) as I lose all power steering when the car is at a dead stop after 10 minutes of driving....
If anyone ever doubts my love for this car I will shoot them...that is all....lol...
As frustraiting as it is, it will never get to that point...I am coming up on the 10 year anniversary with the car and we still have a long lifetime toggether so who knows what the future holds, but regardless we are not parting ways....breathers and breaks from one another here and there but never parting ways....now if only I can type this about a girl, I'd be good to go....HA

Joe
Then we would have to find something else to pick on you about if you find that Girl..

Welll that'd be something new to bust my chops about, gives everyone here even more incentive to find me a nice girl...Ok everyone Gooooooooo!!!!! Let me know if anyone finds anything ....lol...
I jinxed myself coming home from the party, car was running perfect, until a few blocks from my house I was at a light, turned green, went to go....and I was rolling out while the engine was revving High...finally the Transmission kicked in and I was off...then it seemed like the transmission was misshifting....I started to slow up, then everything became right again...back to normal shifting...put the car in the garage and I posted this on Clubgp....thinking either the transmission or possibly the PCM giving issues...
One guy responded and linked the place Scott told me about for transmissions
I have a strong feeling this is my problem, which killed my transmission in the first place...and it seems like it's doing it again:
Neutrals at stops, Shudders on take off: One of the most common problems I have found after the milege gets over roughly 60K miles. The scenario.... You are driving in traffic for a while OR your car has sat for a while and is a cold startup. You put the car in Drive range and it wont move, or if driving you come up to a stop light and in heavy traffic and the light turns green and SUPRISE!!! You are holding up traffic with a car that wont go anywhere. The most common cause of this problem is a worn out inner surface of the Input clutch piston. I will post pics soon so you can better understand why it IS a real problem. Once the inner sealing area wears it can prevent the inner lip seal for the piston from sealing properly. You may find that revving th engine up will finally get the car to move and it will BANG into gear. This is because the pump in the transmission is working harder and moving more fluid thus allowing the added fluid to overcome the leak which prevented the clutch from either initially applying or staying applied. Another area of concern that causes this is a boost valve in the valve body, not near as common but it can cause this problem on a lessor scale. If a fluid/filter service has not been performed in a very long time then a very dirty or plugged up filter can add to problems as it because a major restriction. IF the filter is found to be very dirty on the inside, which can be verified by cutting open the filter, then there are other problems inside the transmission anyways and an overhaul is the only correct way to fix the problem.
Now I can only assume with a full transmission rebuild the worn out inner surface of the Input clutch piston would be replaced...but I can't see that part going in less then 4 months without a lot of use, no matter how I drive the car...
I will be calling up ECS soon, cause this is what I am experiening to the Tee, and before I blow up this transmission completely I would like to get it there under it's own power for them to look into it...Hopefully this fixes the issue and I can finally put it to rest....
Well here's the thing, I'm taking this as a good thing believe it or not..
After I had the turbo in it, the transmission would do this slightly every so often, the mis shifting then it would correct itself....I think that part is what eventually killed the transmission (Not the over all power from the turbo)
And although I would think this was replaced when ECS got the transmission, I am not certain, perhaps they looked at the gears and such and said yep there all chopped up thats the issue...with out looking further into it....and now it's happening again..
But now at least I have a direction...before I wasn't sure if it was the pcm the transmission or what...
If I call and they didn't change this, it's going straight back to have this done....if they did change it we have to figure out why it's starting to do this in 4 months with less then 1000 miles from repair...
But I think, I think, after I get this figured out I can have piece of mind with the car (Crosses fingers) Joe
