I tend to be a clown most of the time (be quiet MD, lol) but there are some things that I am passionate about. Soldiers are one of a few. Maybe, because I am a Viet Nam Veteran and luckily made it home safe and sound. These kind of videos always make me both sad amd proud for the troops that put themselves in harms way.

Definitely an awesome thing to do....

It's funny (Ironic, not haha) The other day I was coming home from work, as many of you know I take the ferry, then a train, then run down to catch a local City Bus...As I made my way on the bus, most of the seats were taken...Many by some HS Students coming home from after school activites....as well as some middle aged men/women....

So I sit towards the back and look at my phone (What else is new right?) Right at the next stop...an ederly man gets on, he is limping a lil and is carrying a small rolling piece of luggage....and he is wearing a veterans baseball cap filled with small pins and medals...as he walks past the disabled seating no one stands....he makes his way to the middle of the bus, and not a single soul stood...After I guess a second I finally look up to see him, and of course stand and assure he gets the seat, not any of the younger kids who are coming home from there "hard day of school"

He was sooo very thankful, when in reality we should all be thankful to him....Quiet sad that no one has respect to 1.) Stand for an elderly man, much less a veteran who fought for everyone's freedom....

Very touching Video Jay....nice to see there is respect for those who fight for our freedoms...

Joe

The maniac loves his veterans so much he would kill for them.......My favorites are WWII thanks to my beloved uncle who passed in 1981. Only 1.6 million left :( Vietnam vets are a close second.....Doc knows how I feel.

 Very nice video Jay

Joe that was awesome of you to let him have your seat!! Its amazing nowadays how much things have changed. Simple little things like holding a door open or giving up your seat for someone doesnt seem exist anymore. Veterans and the elderly are taken for granted so often (at least around here)

I have something similar to share, over the summer before I go home from work i need to put the american flag up for the day. its pretty busy in the morning so there are always people walking by, One day an elderly man was sitting on the bench near the flag pole as i went out to raise old glory, he yelled over at me,, hold on a minute young fellow. this poor old guy comes staggering over with his cane, poor guy could hardly walk. He to had a WWII veterans hat on . anyhow he gets near and starts to salute, he says okay, now you can raise it . Flag gets to the top and he looks at me and says thank you. I look at him and say, no I thank you for fighting for our country.

Awesome Video. I have the utmost respect for all who served our country. My husband's father was one of the 82nd Airbourne in WWII, who used to get dropped past enemy lines. Also, his uncle was killed in a submarine off the cost of New York Harbor that was torpedoed. My husband is actually named after his uncle.

Also, Joe, that was great of you, and you are right about young kids today, they just seem to have no respect for much things these days.

I agree with what everyone said!

That was a great video Jay, thanks for sharing! Young people don't have any respect for anything...that's so true...they don't even have repect for each other let alone some of our nations vets or the elderly.

That was a nice thing to do Joe! Thanks for giving him your seat!

Thanks Doug for sharing your story with us too! It's cool when things like that happen!
