Before I wanted to start on the restro I wanted to do some garage updates. I added a floor in the rafters, insulated and put a ceiling in. I also got a great used 8' base cabinet from the neighbor and made a top out of oak flooring. I started to remove some chrome today.
the box's or the beer..lol if you need any help with the beer i'm here for you...lmao just watch leaving that block sitting unprotected it will start rusting pretty quickly

Wow! Bob you really tore that apart! I guess if you stay on this pace the car will be ready for Summit!
And Jim is right, Best thing to do is spray WD-40 on the cylinder walls and then put a bag around it. Plus if your going to let it likr that for a while, put some desicant bags, like from coffee cans, to keep moisture out as much as possible.

I'm going to take the heads in Monday. I am having trouble making a decision. Right now the car had an after market 4 bl carb. Should I put in a descent cam or put it back the way it was with the 2bl and just a little lift . I have all the original parts. I am hoping to find the build sheet. I don't plan on racing it but just taking it to shows.
Bob, Are you looking to do a restoration and make it all original? or a Custom street cruiser?
If your going for the original look, and installing the 2BBL, then I'd suggest a mild cam, like an RV cam, one that will give you a bit more HP, but doesn't require modifications, like the 4BBL or headers. If not, then go nuts! Put the 4BBL and intake back on and get a 350HP/350CI cam, it will have pep, be resonable with fuel economy and cruise nicely, plus it will have a nice muscle car rumble to it.
just my 2 cents

Last weekend 1-2-2010 we took the gas tank down, removed the bumper, tail light extentions and removed some more chrome. We also got those stickers off the quarter windows and removed the vinyl top. This week we were lazy. I picked up the heads and we went to summit to pick up the cam, lifters, chain, rockers, bearings, rings and gaskets to get the motor back together. The heads got new bronze guide liners, valve springs, valve stem seals, resurfaced valvess and head. They had four new intake and one exhaust valve to get them back into there prime again.
Started to put the motor back together last weekend 1-23-10. I lost interest on Wednesday cause some idiot hit the "07". We got back in the swing of things this weekend 1-30-10. We took both doors apart. All the way, everything is now removed from them. Took out the seats and seatbelts. Also removed the rear window trim. That was a pain cause the previous owner siliconed it. We put the car on some moving dollys. That is working out great. We can move the car around in any direction
Doors are great. The bottom rear and bottom rear of both the quarters and the fenders and the trunk pan. The one place I took the 07 to for an estimate was working on a corronet and said he can make patch panels. He is going to come over and take a look. The ones that he made looked nice for the corronet
I got some energy this weekend. Console, dash pad, front and rear glass, and quarter windows were removed. Floors and wheel wells look awsome. Just a few bad spots around the front and rear windshields front windshield rust hole Rear needs more work wheel wells
Progress as of 4-18-10. Well after hours and hours of tearing down. I think I am at the point of starting the fender patches. It seemed to take forever stacking this car in the rafters. I never thought of how many parts a car has until I had to fit them all up there. I had to put the trunk pan in the spare bedroom . Here is the front end almost removed and a few pics of what the right fender looks like right now
