Let's go back 3 weeks ago. I had a customer of mine buy a used car and was deciding what to do with his 1996 Dodge Dakota. Well, he ended up selling it to Matt for $300.
I have been servicing the truck since 2000, when he came back from the Marines, So I knew the truck very well. I just needed to do a brake job, fix some lights, get the passenger door to open and get tires.
Matt picked it up 3 weeks ago, No sooner did we get it home, did a former Co worker call and he swung by. Well, He too bought new car, and offered Matt his truck, a 1995 Dodge Dakota, for $200. it had a rotted frame so it wasn't worth keeping anymore.
So This weekend, Matt, his friends Sean and Jack and myself completely stripped the parts truck and I mean stripped! bed, hood, wiper cowl, wiper arms, right front fender, left rocker panel, door handles, latches, grille, lights, rear window, trim pieces, radio, Tilt steering column, and the list goes on!
Gee! Can anyone guess what Matt ordered for Lunch?
Monday they came and picked up the remains, Matt got $150. for the scrap! Only my son could buy two trucks for $500, strip over $700 in parts, build one truck and get $150 back!
Somethings got swapped over already: The woodgrain trim pieces and the radio
The bed, hood and wiper cowl have been swapped over as well, But it was too dark to get any pics. Saturday We'll take it to get new tires.
We got it on the road today and he loves it and I get my truck back!

And I thought about calling you, but I didn't get home from work until 2:30 Saturday and I didn't have a whole lot of time on Sunday. You would have been a great help when it came to swapping the beds! those things are heavy!!! LOL!
Jim, it always seems the SS becomes a shelf over the winter, So one year, I stopped at Walmart and target and bought a few cheap flannel sheets, plus I bought us some new blankets for our room and took the old ones for the car. there are about 3 layers there.
Anthony, Sorry it's just my 86 SS, It's my treasure, but thats about it, LOL!

Well, Matt finally had enough of the truck looking like a junkyard refugee, and since he can't afford anything on the SS right now, he decided to start using up what he has laying around and trying to get the truck back up to snuff.
When we went to PA in March, Matt picked up a solid Driver's fender. Just needed a little surface rust repair.
Then took on the bigger rust issue with the passenger side that was off the parts truck.
Hi!!!! LOL!
While the primer was drying, he cleaned up and painted the flares
After
then on to the bed sides
Hopefully he will keep the momentum going and get it done before Summer's end
