While other students were installing ground effects on their Hondas with wood screws, Matt took over a project car that kept getting put aside and has been at the school for a few years. He did most of the assembly of the doors and the hood and deck lids, then made and installed the gas door and some other pieces. Once everything was fitted properly, he filled, primed and blocked the body. the last 2 days, he got the car in paint.
Now the color
And the clear

Thats very awesome Matt. I really love the work did on that project. Dont you wish it was your car to take home. I mean that would be sooo nice. I would give a double a+++++ and alot of 100's on top of it. I wish you lived closer could ask help with mine when I am ready to paint mine.
WOW!!! That is a fantastic job!!! Congrats Matt I love the work you did on that car. Dave you've got to be very proud of him and all that he has accomplished! Congrats again!
oh, man... you know as he keeps getting better and better with the more cars that he does, it's getting harder and harder to ask him not to paint my car!!! Top notch skills right there!!!!
Yeah, I am proud! And I can't wait until he can start working in a high $$ shop and support me!!!LOL!
Matt says to say thanks everyone! He's just hoping the owner doesn't wreck it installing the interior and glass over the summer. Next year Matt is hoping to wet sand and buff it and then install the headlamps, lights and whatnot.
And he doesn't want anything to do with that car outside of school. It's really only a datsun 280Z so it really isn't all that impressive.
Tim, you already have parts painted by him, Maybe he will paint the SS for you, But MY TRUCK GETS DONE FIRST!!!!! LOL!

Well, from what Matt told me, He did get an A in that class as well a all the other collision classes, but only a C+ in the steering and suspension class. That kind of disappointed me, because I worked a lot with him, But atleast he passed.

Glad he got an A in that class; too bad about the C+ ... but, he did pass ... which is awesome! :)
Bob, that was the owners resposnability. same with the back window since he never dropped it off at the school.
Matt, Nope! We can't work togther, we'd kill each other after a few days!
Tim, Wait till he's done with Clint's Trans Am. He's got half the car ready for final sanding. Hopefully he'll have a chance to finish the shell before it gets cold.
