Had a weird coolant leak issue on the 04 Monte. Car may be fine for a week or 2 and then one day can smell coolant leaking. I had looked so many times and never could find it. Brought the car in to Arnold Chevrolet and they found and fixed it in the same day. Seems the water pump pulley seal is where it was leaking. It was so small that what did leak hit the pulley then flew away. I picked up the car that evening and the invoice had 0's on it. Kick-ass to have inside connection with GM. And on that note getting reimbursed for the cost of engine replacement on the 02 Monte.

Jay, thats a very common issue with a lot of GM cars and trucks. The front water pump seal will seep and just drip enough to sling coolant or burn off on the exhaust before it leaves a puddle.
But glad to see it was covered!

Hmm I have had some coolant issues in the past...Gunk in all areas, I ussually do a flush and that gets it clean for a bit....
I took a trip to li and needed coolant was low, and the light never came on, just running hot, although I haven't seen any leaks or puddles under the car...I took out the T-stat, and had to clean it out as it had some gunk on it..also replaced the hoses....still running a bit hot though....
I should check this out and see if I have the same leak issue...Thanks for the post!
Joe
