I bought my Monte the beginning of May and I have enjoyed working on it (what I can do). I bought numerous trim pieces and dash pieces from the local junk yard and replaced a number of things.
Soon after I bought it:
I took the car to a local collision shop and had the paint worked on. It looks nice from far away but the paint is rough. There are many scratches and chips. This isn't the original paint job but whoever had it painted didn't have a good job done. There are a lot of checks over all and some orange peel on the front quarter panel. The shop got many of the swirls out. They glazed it and sealed it (not sure exactly what that is). I had the pin stripes replaced as they were beat up plus they were a blue color that really didn't match. Had them do a gray stripe.
I painted the gas tank, air filter housing and bought and painted new drums.

My new wheels came today! I like them but the car will look much better when I drop it a couple of inches. That won't happen until next year.
