Timing chain Q!!
Permalink Closed

I can't figure this out.. I have a double roller in my 350. Took off the cover to see if its stretched or worn and one side is tight the other about 1/4 of slack. Is this normal??? The timing light was always jumpy since the day i got the engine..

Yes that is normal but if it has more than 1/2 of slack it is no good.

If you have it apart and your not sure, small block timing chains are pretty cheap.

Yeah, Like John said, thats pretty normal for a chain, but if your not sure, install a new one.
