Help! I have a 1995 monte carlo z34. When its cold two cylinder miss and or loss compression. It runs really ruff. It revs up by its self over and over untill it worms up. It runs really rich too. but when it worms up it runs over all like new. Please some one help me?!
Are you sure you are getting a missfire? or loss of compression? or is this a guess?
Not sure on the older V6's, but the newer ones use a IAT Sensor (Intake Air Temperature) if the sensor is faulty it could be sending the wrong temps to the PCM, it will either increase fuel or decrease fuel depending on what it thinks its reading. Colder it gets, the more fuel it demands from the PCM. There could be your rich issue. This can also affect how it idles.
Yeah, see if you have any codes stored, that will give us a better idea of what to look for. But it sounds like maybe you have an intake gasket leaking. I assume it's the 3.4L DOHC motor being that its a 95 Z34. The gaskets are like rubber bands, they shrink in the cold, cause a vacuum leak, then swell when warm sealing the vacuum leak. It's really hard to diagnose things over the net, Best thing is to take it to a reputable shop and have it checked out.
