A friend of mine started to build  a 400 block and now he went a differant route.   It is 30 over and has a 6in rod on a stock 400 crank.  Would it now be a 434cu.  It was bal and blue printed.  The block has been sitting  and has a little bit of surface rust not bad. He gave just the short block.  what do u think?  Do I keep my 355 or finish the 434..confuse

Still trying to find out if it is or not a stroker motor.  If it is it would be a real nice

Whats the finished bore diameter? My 427 has a 4.125" bore, 4" stoke and 6" rods. That may be way too much for a 400 block with siamesed bores.

It looks like it is a 400 30over 406cu with a 6" rod.  Oh well.   Still it could be a killer sb
