Thought I would stop by and say hi being it has been awhile. So we got moved in back in July and spent the next couple of months furnishing the place to make up for what we did not bring with us. After getting moved in that did not mean it was time to slow down, no no no. We needed to add 2 bedrooms to the basement so we had someone come in and frame for us but we did the electrical and drywall. After those rooms were done it was on to the bathroom (ruff in came in the house). We had the same guy do the framing but once again we di drywall and electrical. A friend of mine helped me get the lift pump installed but I did all the plumbing in the basement bathroom. Working on final phase now to finish off basement... MEDIA ROOM!! This time we are doing all the work ourselves except the carpeting. We have already got all the framing done as well as electrical. Going with 7.1 surround including 2 subs, 1 12" and 1 10" plus a 120" screen.
On Monte Carlo news I still have the 2004 SS. Like all the mid 2000 GMs we have had the coolant started leaking on the top end. Luckily I have a relative that works for GM and have had everything taken care of. I had thought of getting rid of it due to fuel prices on the rise but you know for a 240 HP engine it does pretty well so I have decided to keep it.
Right before we left for NY we got a 2006 Grand Cherokee but soon got rid of it here because of too amny problems. We can back to GM and got a 2006 Buick Rendezvous. Surpising nice vehicle with 3rd row seating and 26 MPG.
Oh and one last thing, for those who do not have us as friends on Facebook you may not realize but Wendy and I got engaged and are getting married on June 11th this year!
i do miss my 04 ss. it was great on gas even compared to my gti. only place the gti has it in gas is around town. on the highway i'd get 29.5 in the monte (at 80) the gti is 32-29. what i found is the key to the gasmilage in the monte is dont go above 2500 when taking off! in the winter.. forget about gas milage.

Nice Jay.. Congrats to you and Wendy!! Glad you guys are all settled in, and everything is coming along and you are enjoying your new home. Happy you decided to keep the Monte! :)
Congrats Jay, to you and Wendy, wishing you the best for a long & happy marriage. I too am happy to hear that you kept your Monte, they really are sweet running cars, and the gas mileage is not bad at all. Wow, you have been quite busy, sounds like your mansion is on its way to being a palace.. enjoy.
