second this is the cam spec for what i have in there now. and the heads i have.
Camshaft lift (in):
.474 intake / .510 exhaust
Camshaft duration (@.050 in):
208'c1 intake / 221'c1 exhaust
Cylinder heads (P/N 12464298):
Fast Burn aluminum; 62cc chambers
i'm looking for more power but also that lumpier sound.
was looking at this.GM # 12480002 Hot cam kit is supposed to push my motor to 425hp from 385hp cam specs Duration @ .050 Lift (deg): I: 218, E: 228 Maximum Lift (in) w/1.5 rocker: I: .492, E: .492 Lobe Centerlline (deg): 112
my springs will only allow up to 525 lift so i'dd have to change springs when i go with the 1.6 rockers.
i also have a RPM Airgap to be added on.
help me figure out what the hell to order. i'll also be running 3" exhaust dumping out behind the rear tires.

While I am a fan of shorty headers for there ease of installation and maintenance I would invest in a set of long tube 1 5/8 headers and a 2.5 inch exhaust.
With a 3" exhaust and a 350 you may be to large and reduce the velocity of the exhaust gasses passing through the exhaust system. In doing so they diminish the emptying out or "scavenging" effect in the cylinder.
Now in english...........If you can't get the exhaust gas out fast enough, then you can reduce the amount of incomming gas because of the reduced space(left over exhaust) in the cylinder and in turn loose power.
Check out this exhaust size calculator.
It is just a guide but is pretty good since it figures everything out for you.
According to the calculator a 385HP engine 2.25 inch exhaust is good

I agree with staying with the 2 1/2" exhaust. I also think that hot cam would be excellent for your motor. I have the Hooker long tubes and I like them, except when I have to navigate speed bumps. Then it is a slow approach and on an angle. The collectors do hang a bit low.

don't forget Rich my car is still 4wd...lol i'm not lowered.
i'm looking at these from summit since they fit my heads
i'll keep the exhaust i have on the car for now with the flowmaster mufflers. they're about 20yrs old now, but they sound good. i'll probably get another set of flowmaster muffs
