Once upon a time, "Convoy" frightened me. Luckily, that isn't the case anymore....
Every time I hear “Convoy” by C.W. McCall, I think of a fateful late night on the road between Illinois and Pennsylvania, circa 1978. It probably wasn’t the first time I heard the song; it had, after all, already ascended both the country and pop charts in late 1975 and early 1976, debuting November 29, 1975, and spending 15 weeks on the country charts, six of those at #1. But, it was one particular night that defined the song for me … for a while. These days, though, the song’s historical nature intrigues me.
I have one for the scared... I was in a junk yard in PA and was under a Camaro trying to get my most prized posession . Matt (Dave's son) and Jim were holding the rear down so I could look under the car, when all of a sudden they moved and the car started to come down..... Dave never saw me run that fast lmao!!!!
