finally i got to do some trim work and not damn plumbing...

packed out the new window and cut the new trim. will put it up tonight after the urethane dries. then i did one of the chair rails that but up to one of the counter. 3 more of them to go then i'm done trim in the kitchen.




here is the window packed out with trim and all caulked.

ok i finished the kitchen cabinets finally. the neighbor made a steel jig for the handles to drill the holes. it was so nice having a template. it went nice a easy doing them all.

well Hotel Squizz needed more detailing done. Karen painted the bathroom from blue to tan and i painted the old cabinets and added new door hardward and changed out the toilet. Bath fitters is coming in a few weeks to change out the tub and put a shower in it's place. we then painted the hallway and she sponge painted the lower half and i installed new chair rail molding last night to finish it off. it turned out pretty good.

got the cabinet doors painted and drilled holes for the new handles. hung the new towel holder and got the bathroom window trim back up.




next I'm moving tothe front of the house. i puller 2 large azela bushes out and a large lilac tree. moved 2 other plants and makeing way for the 5x28 deck i am adding. Our house sits far enough off the road and we've been wanting to be able to sit out there for a few years now.
i am building the deck free standing as it will not be attached to the house at all.
working on figuring out the plans now.

started framing the new porch or deck on the front of the house. 28x6



picked up a load of material for the decking


did more framing and landscapre fabric and added some stone under it.

framing done


 

also moved the outet i had on the house to the end of the deck since we won;t be able to access it once the decking is on.

well i got it finished this weekend.
added the lattice to the bottom.


then cut all 30 of the 12' deck boards in half and started laying the 6' pieces



needed to run to the store for 2 more pieces of lumber.and finish up in the dark. Me and Franky worked our butts off. 12 screw per board and 60 boards was a lot of screwing...lol


cut the boards to make them all the same length on sunday.


then since i built it over the concrete step i had to drill and use tapcon screws into the concrete.


this is the finished product.

well Saturday we finished the front of the house. i scrubbed the gutter and the soffit and the 3 windows with a brush and simple green. Karen followed behind with a soft bristle broom and strong bleach water and washed thesiding. turned out great. then we finished the mulching and got some furniture for the deck and some plants.
turned out pretty nice.
the front of the house looks way better.

ok it's been away since Hotel Squizz got any major ungrades. So here it the new addition. We added a 20x20 roof over a portion of the deck. The roofing material is not done yet, but will be in the next few weeks. then We can start to build the new table for the deck. We already have the new chairs and firepit. Need the table and other stuff to be built to complete the project.
