check the rubber boots behind the bulbs, if they are good, then replacement of the headlight is needed.

the rubber seal around the headlight cover correct?
it tricky to remove the headlight gizmo? and if the rubber seal bad i can just get that replaced and all good but would i have to dry the interrior out? i can take pic of it if u like

He means the rubber O-ring around the head light bulbs themselves. If they don't fit properly, they allow water and moisture in.

I have had good luck with removing the head lamp assembly, drilling a couple small holes [1/8" or smaller] in the bottom of the assembly as a drain. Drying the inside with a heat gun or a blow gun, then applying clear aquaruim sealer to all the seams of the assembly.

Headlight assemblies are not covered by any Aftermarket Warranty that I know of. Best you can do is call the dealer and see.

On my Malibu they replaced both headlights for this issue under the GM Factory 3/36 warranty. Like Dave said, your best bet is to call the dealer and see what they'll do, if anything.

yeah, under the original 3/36, they have to have a certain amount of condensation in the lens before they replace it. Under an aftermarket warranty, I doubt it would be covered, but cant hurt to make a call. Worse they can say is "no"

I've seen people take the headlights out, put them in the oven and heat them up, then separate the lens from the housing, reseal them then re-bake them so they seal back up.

The only fear on that is if you make a mistake, those headlights are not cheap to replace I don't believe. I could be wrong, but I don't think you can get cheap aftermarket ones yet.

depends on how close the core supports are between the years, never looked at them side by side
