It was really a nice day! lots of cars came out, and got to sit and watch some of the cars go down the track. I hope they get to this at other Fire Depts. I didnt realize how big the CI fire dept was.

It was a good cause, proud of my hubby for going out and volenteering his time!

Here are a few pics.. didnt take many but here you go!

John,
it was a 220' run on the track, its all that can be allowed and be safe at the same time.

There were 106 race cars and 90 in the show, 700 spectators passed the gate. Good turn-out being we only had 4 weeks to promote it.

The track was hooking ok by mid day, cars were pulling the wheels a bit, not to bad for the 1st time out.
Over $7000.00 was raised for the charity!! thats the main thing.

I would say that every car had at least 3-4 passes during the day, some did more, 5-6.

It was a great day!!!!! and the FD is looking to do it again next yr, plans are in the works.
There is also a good chance of this happening on other FD tracks in the future.

We got a chance to help out a charity and have some fun at the same time!!!!!!!!

I was gonna go even had a tow veh ready just in case.

Then I sat back and thought about it.

50 buxx for a test and tune on a 100 foot track.

Now lets just say we were to get a track back on Long Island.

The developer or owner of the new track will be ...If they are willing to pay 50 buxx for a 100 foot run, then they will be willing to pay 100 buxx for a "real" track.

And that left a real bad taste in my mouth.

With events like this costing what they do,

You know if we do get a track they are gonna rape us at the gate.
