with this sandy storm coming up. it is going to be nothing less then nasty at this point. spent the day doing work on the island for FEMA, then cleaning up the yard. tomorrow i'll be doing some con-ed work and on weds. i'm leaving the island for ohio. which i'll be stuck in a massive snowstorm lol.  just be safe all!

it doesn't look to be that bad, checking on weather.com & the winds are not reaching any higher than 30mph monday & tuesday.

A tree just fell onto one of the apartments in my building. Unfortunately its a friends place...I hope they are ok!

damn!!! We lost a tree in the back yard, missed house by 10ft. Lots of branches in front yard. Never lost power.

hope everyone is OK out there... Tommy pretty mucch summed it up for us. This is just too much. We have to count our blessings, no major damage to our house, no trees fell on it, and no flood. I think the power and gas situation sucks but frankly if you have not gas you cant go anywhere just sit tight and tell your boss to pick you up iif they really need for you to go work.

The sun was shining today and right now the generator is cranking. Yes if the gas situation does not get better we wont be able to use it, so for now I am thankful for that..

Hope everyone gets back to normal soon! Everything will and by Thanksgiving we will all really have something to be thankful for. And lots of stories to tell. I told my neice that when she has kids, and they complain when the internet goes out, or the power going out for a few hours, she can tell them how she survived the worse storm that ever hit the east coast, and what we had to do to survive for the week or two without power, hot water, and gas!

So what ever happened with the Wedding & your friends appartment?

Still no power at home and have been running on a generator, running out of fuel for it and if you can find a gas station on LI with gas the lines are up to a mile long!!! This sucks, I'm done with it!!!!!! GIVE ME POWER LIPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I figured out it was her new neighbors. The idiots deserve it! They are too loud, even I can hear them on the end! The damage was minor & they had it fixed by yesterday.

Wedding turned out amazing :) Instead of the park we decided to use the little gazebo outside Dave& Busters(reception area). It still feels like a dream.. :)
I just wish I had gas...Monte has been sitting for 2 & 1/2 days now. Only a 1/4 tank that I'm saving for a emergency. Been riding the mountain bike to work. Not enjoying it ):

here is a little update on LIPA.

as some know, my brother works for national grid (the gas section of LIPA). he said there is only oneword to discribe whats gong on. CARNAGE. he said they're having issues with the substations and that the transformers keep blowing out and they dont know why. there is also NO help from other companies for electric either. just national grid from CT. so pretty much.. its ALL LIPA. as far as the natural gas goes.. they are changing out a lot of regulators in known area's that they were flooded/could have been. its a precaution so no houses blow up.. litteraly. the issue they're facing now is one the rest of the island is facing. they are running out of fuel for their vechicals. rest assured they're working around the clock to get this all taken care of. they told my brother and a few friends.. 7 days a week 16 hours a day maybe until thanksgiving.

Tommy, have some gas here if needed. Know I have 5 gallons, brother may have some too, he got power back last night.

About an hour after I posted my last update the power came on. How exciting to take a nice hot shower and sleep in a warm house after 6 days!

Thanks Rob for the update, my parents in Nassau still do not have power, they are going crazy about now. 8 days for them.

Glad to hear about the Wedding Red, maybe we can see some pics! Congrats again.
