needing new brakes for my 06 ss

every guy says basically same... ceramic brakes and slotted... so anyone have a good brand.. wanna replace all 4 brakes at once (might as well)

not a hard braker I don't rush up to red lights like typical driver lol but I do like to speed when have the space for it and therefore need the brakes to handle high speeds

I prefer Hawk Brake pads and I use Summit rotors. They work great on the 01 SS and on Matt's 84 SS. I have to install them on the 86 soon.

u wouldn't use same brand for both parts? and ive seen their summit site... would they both come in the slotted ceramic and I'm assuming then since u did say summit rotors to just use their website then as well and what is a good price for replacing all 4 wheels ive alwaysbeen told roughly between $400 to $500... and I'm having a friend install them for me since I don't know squat... how much would a shop charge u for labor roughly... and since gonna do it ourselves is here any special tool I may need

grrr painin ass to find stuff when more I look more confused I am.. between size theyneed to be and so forth... I'm assuming I should be fine without needing to replace calipers but hopefully when I get oil change and tire rotation those guys can find out exactly what I need but I do want to replace pads and the disc to the ceramic and slotted ones.. I don't beat my brakes but when I do go fast I like to slow down without all the pulsing and burned smell lol and I know last year at the glenn on the main straight away leading into corner my brakes where getting beat up

Ok, first, yes mixing the brands is OK.

Second, There are no options regarding your brake size on your car. You don't have to worry about size.

Third, it doesn't matter what brand pad or rotor, you drive fast and slow down faster, IT WILL SMOKE YOUR BRAKES!!!! They will pulsate when they heat up. Actually, they give a slight vibration right out of the box, but you will get used to it. Plus it won't matter what brand you use, there willbe some sort of noise associated with performance brakes. They may squeal when cold, they may make a grinding noise when hot. They may not make a sound for weeks.

Here are my suggestions. Rotors are sold as a pair. They are left and right, so be sure to have them installed properly!

Front pads and rotors. Pads are Ferro Carbon, better than ceramic for heat.

The rear pads and rotors. Pads are ceramic because they are not made in Ferro Carbon.

And lastly, I choose Summit for just about all performance parts. They take care of me pretty good when it comes to warranty and shipping. And they have decent prices.
