I agree, hedman Headers are the best deal, and getting the ceramic coating is a great idea

I had flowtech shorties on and they fit like crap!. I had to dimple one tube a lot to clear the upper control arm. I now have the coated Headman shorty on and they went it very easy. The fit is good and no dimpling of any tubes.  You get what you pay for.

Thanks Doc, I was just reading on another forum the same thing about the flowtechs. The hedmans are what I had in mind. you say you have them on your LS now?? are they the same part# as the ones I have listed ?

Also are there any other brands that anyone else has had good luck with?

I have a brand new set of the Headman in my garage!!!

Not coated though

I used a set of non coated and then went to coated ones on my Malibu with the TPI setup.

They are probally the only header I would use on a street car these days.

The long tubes are to much a pain in the @ZZ for me in a street car.

Between them losening and the gaskets always going.

The Headman shorties were great when I had them!!

And if they are still made the same way, I would highly recomend them .

We used the Summit ones on Matt's car, But they were not coated. Plus you saw the mods we needed to do to make them fit.

My Edelbrock TES have all the A.I.R. pump tubes, so You won't want them. Looks like the Hedmans are the way to go

Hate to admit it, but when I worked at autozone we use to order these in all the time. People use to like the price of flowtech but once they tried to install them they come back bitchin about it. I agree, spend a little more for hedman.
I get ones that fit and ones that are coated.

I thought that was the plan? Get that one rebuilt.

Time to stock up on other goodies, like Valve covers, rebuild kit, oil pump, timing chain.............

The intake is still good, just need to have it blasted really good and then have Joe powdercoat it, same with all the brackets

Doug, those are things that need to be replaced with the motor, if your rebuilding it.

True, but if i end up having to replace the whole motor , then i'll have bought alot of unneccesary stuff. have to get this motor out and apart first, see whats what.. and go from there. I  beleive that this motor is saveable, it doesnt run bad only has about 2k on the rebuild from the previous owner told me, I had the valve covers off over the summer and everything looks like brand new super clean in there. something went wrong somewhere. Like I said I'll know more once its apart
