Jim those braces were easy to install. there are dilples where the back bolt goes thru. I just test fitted to make sure that everything fit, and started drilling. You will need to get the wipers in the up possition to install the driver side brace.
hmmm i need to watch that. i don't know if i can move the wipers with the hood up. i know something with the wipers hit to hood before. i'll just have to be very careful.

well if you can't do that, can you remove one end of the wiper motor arms? the issues is when the wiper is down the motor arm prevents you from getting the brace inbetween the arm and the firewall sill
A little more work done today, cleaning up the engine bay.
Before:
GOLD!!!!
All done. Trying out the color on the braces, seeing if I like it. I realise that it's not complete so the gold may not look right now, but this is the start of my theme.
No problem Tim, It was a blast with you guys here all day yesterday! But hey! After 7 hours wandering in the junkyard, then 2 hours working on Matt's Monte, I still got yours done in less than hour!! Matt's would have been done in an hour too, if it wasn't for fixing the brakes and those rotted cotter pins. LOL!
The car look so much better now! Just get it aligned and and remember the car will handle completely different now, But I think you'll like it.

Wow, had to go back to page 3 to dig this one up. Well, parts are ordered, headers are geting costed, and have a lot planded. Should be starting soon to disassemble
Tim, when you get the chance, take the fender wells and spray them with simple green, scrub them good with a sponge and rinse. Then when they dry, give them a good wipe down with interior cleaner. Don't use Armour All, it will leave wierd streaks. They will look brand new!

as long as they are not cracked, scratched or have been painted prior they clean up good. Look at mine, Those came out of Doug's old car with over 100K. I painted the underside only because they were scratched bad

Jim, Dave can comment on how it improved the feel as Matt has it on his SS. My only experience with it is that i've read it's suppose to give you a firmer peddal.
Damn Rochester Shops!!! No lift, no power tools, dirty floors........................... But once again I beat the odds. Too bad I ran out of time and parts, LOL!

Did a little more painting, did a little more cleaning. Got the lower radiator hose off and the new one ready to be put on when I realized I never painted the one set of clamp covers. Oh well. Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can get some Por-15. I know I saw it at one of the stores locally, just can;t remember where.
