I wrote this a few years back........some of you have already read it, but for those NEW Moms here we go:
NOT JUST ANY MOTHER
Oh Mother Dear, can you hear Lean your ear this way.
On this day I must confess I have something important to say.
As a child, it is very hard to put simple words in play To truly express, what YOU mean to me, on this very special day.
Most of my life, I know, I always took you for granted Never really knowing well, all the seeds you planted.
From my very birth, the pains I caused, you did cheerfully endure With your loving breasts, you nurtured me, until I could mature.
With a song filled voice, and a tender caress, all the diaper changes and a clean new dress. You wiped my nose, cleaned my butt, and sponged up all the mess.
You picked me up when I fell down You changed my world into a smile You chauffeured me all over town, Mile after drudging mile.
You wiped my tears, made me safe, and laughed with me at times You read to me, sang with me, and taught me nursery rhymes.
You helped me grow, learn to deal, and face the world alone You encouraged me to face myself and not to ever groan.
You showed me all the paths to take, to make me strong and wise You consoled me, and mentored me, and made me twice my size.
YOU taught me what LOVE truly is and what it means to share You always did what was best for me, all with loving care.
I love you mom with all my heart, which words cannot express. Look into my eyes and see yourself, There you see, you are the best!
HAPPY MOTHER's DAY
