Any of u guys with the supercharged ss or GTP have a time at the track for 1/8th or 1/4 mile time??... Just wanna compare to see if my 2000 MCSS is just as fast.
Now that raises the question, what do you have done to the Monte? I think most here have the N/A 3800, not many with the Supercharger, but I'd hazzard a guess that Supercharged ones will be in the 14's
straight supercharged ones should be 14+, a few bolt-ons and you are in the 13's. I never got my SS to the track, but cars with the same mods were running 13.6 - 13.4
So far i done the front header, zzp downpipe w/ cat, dynomax cat-back, K&N cai, zzp ER rockers, zzp HV2 insert, Msd coil pack, tylor 8mm wires, E3 plugs, and an airaid TB spacer.. Before the spacer i took it to the 1/8th mile here in TN and went 10.34 but was having electical problems.. But since then i hav'nt been back to do some more test runs..
is the head gaskets a common problem w/ the 3400?? I'm gonna be doing intake gaskets for an Impala 3400 for a friend of mine and i know thats a common problem.. Is that gonna be easy??
yes it's a common problem. It's easy if you take your time. I labeled everything and put all parts in zip lock bags. I want to say it took me like 22 total hours doing it for the first time.
unless your well modded, stick with stock plugs and wires. We get people posting all the time on NAIOA about misfires and rough idle just after a tune up. They always go for "better" wires & plugs. Swap them out for stock Delcos and problems correct themselves.
3800's are very picky when it comes to certain parts. Plugs, wires, o2 sensors, etc.
Well i'm gonna go back to the track as soon as it cools down and see if i can at least get 10.0s.. Hopfully theres a GTP there i can race aginst.. I'll post the times when i do. Since putting on the Airaid spacer the car feels real responsive even in the hot air..
