On August 27th the whole world will be waiting for the planet Mars to be as bright as the moon in the night sky.


It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.

This will happen on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth.


Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

If you looked up last night, Mars was directly under the moon and the sight was spectacular.  This is a

“stop and smell the roses” moment.  Don’t miss it.

Ahh yes... I heard last night was the best.. but you should see it tonight also. I will be looking. I missed that big meteor shower a few weeks ago!! Did anyone see That???

I just read an article on yahoo and they say it is a hoax but you will be able to see Mars very close tonight. It will not be as big as the moon though from what I read. Either way I think I will take a look
