KM 87 Aerocoupe new drivetrain
Permalink Closed

Well deconstruction started today

I am removing the stock drivetrain and installing a S K built 383 stroker, a new Auto

Gear M22 and a new Ford 9 inch rear.

Here are some pics just to start

I removed the emissions stuff so far cause I still need the car to run around the

block to my friends garage for the major work

Here are some shots of the new stuff waing to go in

i.e the tranny , Hotchkiss arms ,springs ,radiator ,crossmember, mounts etc.

If anyone needs any stock stuff let me know cause I am just gonna scrap it

Where did you get the lines from? I got mine from Inline Tube and they worked out great! Only one small tweak and they all fit perfect.

I'm running the lakewood and it's giving me a hard time with headers.  The bellhousing takes up a lot of space and mine is a hydrolic.  If I knew it was going to be this hard to hind header I would of used a stock bellhousing.

The headers are the part that scares me

I'  ve seen hooker 2466-1 from other forums or f body headers

I have to do more investigation

As for the bellhousing I had to use a scattershield because the motor is gonna be

475-500hp with a full Kevlar clutch and I like my feet

I remember back in the late 70s early 80s when I was in high school

This guy was running an early 60s Falcon with a 351 and a toploader

He dumped the clutch out on Herricks and Jericho and it let go, the disc and plate

came through the floor boards like a radial saw blade he lost his foot

After that I think Everyone in the Mineola and surrounding area including me ran a scattersheild

So it looks like there will be two Aerocoupes rowing gear here.  clap.gif

I got the rear from Just Rearends in Reno, Nevada

Custom fit for a G-body

11 inch drum brakes cause the calipers on the disc would hit the frame and shocks

As a matter of fact I am on my way to shipping terminal in West Babylon to pick it up now

I ll send photos of it
