they all fit with the same body lines.

but the LS and CL had nubs on the door so u could put the chrome on. they are like little rivets that you can pop off the door with a pliers. then make sure they are flush by grinding or sanding the ridges smooth. i had a 79 regal that i did this with and it is easy but of course added work. as we all know the SS doesnt have them.

Bob, also remember the mirror position is different. 81-85 were smaller and mounted about 4" behind where the 86-88 larger ones are. Matt had to weld, grind and fill the old holes, then drill and mout the mirror in new ones. But other than that everything bolts up the same.

Ok thanks guys. It's not for me. A kid that works with Deanna bought a 85 LS. The door is rough and he was going to try to fix it. I told him he would be better off trying to find a descent door for it

Not sure if you already know this or not ... but ... an "LS" door has the chrome in a different location than an "SC" (Sport Coupe) door.  ["CL" is not a model; it's just an interior upgrade.]

That kid has an '85 SC, not an LS.  LS models weren't available until mid 1986 through 1988.  The SCs were from '81 to early '86.

The SC chrome is at the bottom of the doors, but the LS chrome isn't.  Here is a side view of my '87 LS and '81 SC so you can see the difference:

Thought I'd clarify, so the kid didn't buy an "LS" door, to find that it doesn't have the chrome in the same place as his '85 "SC"....  HTH.

Thanks Cort. I had put 8 down by the time he brought the subject up. He wanted to know how to fix the door skin and said it was rotted like 3" up from the bottom. I told him to find another door.

YW, Bob. Hope I didn't sound offensive ... I just am VERY picky.

But, yes ... rotted 3" up from the bottom? Definitely find another door. Did he find one, then? Any pics of the MC ... or did I miss 'em?
