ok this isn't about a car, but Hotel Squizz has been needing some up dates.

we got newer furniture so Karen desided she want to paint the living room. i said fine have fun doing it. but then she wants it 2 toned so now i have to put up a chair rail molding around the room. no biggie i like wood working anyway.so then i'm like fine we're getting new carpet in the living room and the hallway. and also new flooring in the kitchen and bath. so here are some pics and more to come later.

here is the old carpet and living room before paint.







and a snag along the way. they cut the door jambs and moldong to make room for the vinyl floor. WHY they did i don't know sincethe old flooring was removed from under them. well the cut the wire that i had installed many years ago to feed the ceiling fans in all the bedrooms.it even melted the switch... you think they would've told me but no i had to find out at 8:00 that night when i went to turn the pantry light on. so i had to fish a new wire thru my finished drywall ceiing in the basement and all the way to the fuse box to fix what they did.i'm still waiting to hear if there going to pay me for fixing it. otherwise i told them i'll hire an electrician to do it then they can pay more.there was no reason they had to cut in that far in the first place.

adding more on Dave comment in the OT thread... you know Dave, we better start looking for another place to stay near Hotel Squizz with all these upgrades that take placed after we leave. Not becasue they don;t want us around our we can afford the room to stay there, but because it keeps costing Jim every time we visit lmao!!!!

 Yeah, and the funny thing is we don't even use the house! This time we actually had running water in the man cave suite, LOL!

And You know, Now that I think about it, It explains  why Karen is always so happy to see us!

 

Jim The place looks great! You do awesome work, when your up here you'll have to teach me some things. Just don't let Diana find out, LOL!

ok Karen got the new paint done in the living room. we went for a different look and painted the lower half of the wall maroon.





old carpet being tore out








new carpet being put in.







then i got the new ceiling fan done


then came time for me to add the chail rail molding...





then i got rid of the big bulky 36" tv and bought a 47" lcd tv and surround system... i'll get those hooked up tonight.

And we weren't complaining about the channels, we just said you had 1/2 the stations as last time. Ok, we did say something that you lost SPEED channel. LOL!

well Hotel Squizz received some more upgrades.
new toilet in the wifes bathroom.
changed out the ugly sink and faucet from the main bathroom.
changed the storm door with a new one with a retractable screen built in.
that was all on sunday.
the day before i spent 6 hours cleaning the shed side of the garage.

well the new cabinets will be here tomorrow. so i started taking the old ones down.

this is the POS garden window Karen had to have like 14yrs ago. well that is coming out and a awning window is going in.

well i had the day off yesterday to wait for the cabinets to be delivered.
they got there around 11:00. so i wasted little time and started to install them.
was a pain to work around appliances and all the stuff in the kitchen. i did get to buy
a new tool thou. i needed a right angle drill to drill for the face screws.

anyway here are some pics of the base cabinets that i took out while waiting for the delivery.




here is the first cabinets being done.


the row over the fridge is done.



this cabinet used to be 21" now it's a 24"


the row over the microwave. what fun it was drilling all the holes to mount the microwave without having the template
that comes with the wicrowaves. but i got it all correct on the first shot.

i installed 3 of the base cabinets last night. i had to take some of the wall apart to make room for the larger cabinets.i'll add the wood back in later.

well we i got the one cabinets next to the stove done. then my friend that i did the kitchen for a few months ago stopped to give me a hand with the sink area.



castle windows came on saturday and took the POS garden window out.




then they installed the new awning window we ordered.



here are the rest of the base cabinets done.



we got the upper trim work all done.



new valance panel beteeen the cabinets over the sink along with a new lamp.



then went to lowes to order the Granite counters that i wasn't planing on doing. but the corian ones we got fro free just wouldn't cut it.

got the toe kicks done. the damn hacks that did the flooring couldn't cut a straight line. had to pack to toe kicks out an inch and then add thecove molding to cover up there cuts.

ok while waiting for the counter top guys to get there i did some trim work.
i changed out the corner round molding for Cove molding for the edges of the walls to hit the cut from the vinyl flooring. then i changed out the rest of the outlets and light switches in the hallway and new cover plates.






here is the first piece of counter.

new sink and faucet i assembled in the garage.






sink installed (just need to fix the very slight drip from the new drain.)

Frank the sink is a black granite composite. the colors runs all the way thru it. say no scratch or chip and is good for 550 degrees
