Going nuts &^%$^%$!!!!!!!

I am having a problem with the steering.

Had it since the car has been put together.

Did not have the problem b4 the swap.

I have a quick ratio steering box the 2.5 turns lock 2 lock.

Problem is I get 1 turn to the left and 1.5 turns to the right.

I just had it all apart to make sure everything was together right, and it was.

So I think  either I have the wrong centerlink or the Advance Auto rebuilt box is wrong.

Anyone have any other ideas?????

Can someone take a pic or 2 of there centerlink for me.

Thanks

Sounds like the pitman arm or steering shaft might be off by a few teeth unless it's got a keyed spline.I'd have to see it to really tell but be my first thought

has a keyed spline

after taking it apart again today i see that when the box is disconnected from the centerlink the suspention moves more so my guess is the box was rebuilt wrong.

John, the steering should travel more than the box can. That box should have a 3 master splines where the pitman arm goes. It sounds like your off 1/3 of the travel. Take the pitman arm off, center the box and then center the wheels. It should be pretty close. I've had one box that had a twisted sector shaft and it made the steering wheel sit almost 180 degrees off.

i had the pitman off a 1/2 a dozen times the master splines are 90 degrees apart from another so if it was off i would be even worse.

gonna have to pull the box and swap it out
