well all, after a much needed break i'm back! (story in a bit)

 

for those that dont know me, i'm rob. i am the co founder of the nymcc. tommy and i go way back to 2000! i have a 87 GN, but not like the typical gn people.. dont worry.. 

 

anyway story!

 

So as you guys know, i moved from fl to pa (slowly going back home!). i opened a trucking company and its been keeping me SUPER busy. i needed to keep my head in to the business for a whle and really needed a break. hell, the gn went about 10 miles since i moved in may. anyway, the business is actually (knock on wood) doing pretty well. i'm going 100% indipendent come jan. my trailer seach is on and starting to price out the insurances. (anyone complaning about their insurance rates.. dont lol)things are starting to really come together. i havent been this happy in years! 

 

now for the cars..

the gti is gone. i think it was jim that said it wouldnt make it past 90k with me driving it.. well it did.. just didnt make it past 103k.. new clutch, trans, all suspension (thing handled like a go kart!) but.. the front end was rotting out.. lol gone! i got a 2011 jeep liberty. LOVE IT.. hate the color.. it'll smoke the tires off the rims if you do a brake stand.. not that i EVER do a burnout.. 

 

the gn.. well the gn is on hold for a while. i'm going to do it once and do it right. the car is being resto'ed. the motor is coming out of it in the summer and a stock motor is going in. now what i am doing is building a RX7 or 510 datsun.. everyone can calm down.. the gn motor will go in there. it will be a track only car. aparently there is big money in these import races. i've been keeping busy with my brother going to a few races with his VW GTI. no its not what ya'll think.. you can ask tommy and jay. lol its a real bad little car. last time out totally missing 3rd gear (i mean totally) the car with 11.6x. run after that it exploded the diff and put a hole in the trans the size of a fist.

dave i've been crazy busy! about 3 weeks ago, in 2 weeks i was home maybe 30 hours. i have goals set and so far (agian knock on wood) they're reachable. just going to take some time and a lot of hard work. i'm hoping by this time next year i will be breaking away from the brokers and getting my own customers. come march i'm looking in to buying my second truck and trailer.

thanks rich! a success? no not yet. i wont be happy untill i'm noticed by the big companies. thennnn after they crush me like a bug.. lol

the one thing i'm really looking foward to is building the race car. only thing import is going to be the shell. my gn motor, a th350 with a brake, 9" with 3.08's, a cage from as far as i'm concerned one of the best in the business (did my brothers car), and i'm going to strip the hell of the car of every thing i can! my goal is to keep it at or under 2600lbs. these import racers arent going to know what that quiet rx7 (or datsun 510 ) is.

as for the gn.. the gn is getting: new floors, new 1/4, new rims, new uposltry (damn chicken blew up on my seat...), a stock motor.. ok.. small small cam.., rear rebuild, and i'd like to paint the frame. oh cant forget the paint.. at this time i'll go with show quality. i'm really pumped!

Well Well.. Look who has returned! LOL Welcome back Rob, it's nice to hear your business is doing good and you are well. (hate facebook, try to go on as little as possible)

Don't be a stranger and try to come to the Christmas party (details to come) this year.  It would be nice to see some old faces.
