it's just snake oil! I have yet to see any proof that any oil additive makes a difference. Zmax gas additive does help though, It helps electric fuel pumps last longer. We service a fleet of limos and with over 300K on them and the fuel pumps are still going strong. Regular Crown vics fuel pumps last roughly 100K.

is this worth doing? seems same thing the stp product does while only costin few bucks compared to a dealership costing $120....Fuel Injection Service
View DetailsHide Details$11995* Cleans Injectors, removes deposits on intake valves & combustion chamber to help maintain maximum performance and fuel efficiency . Fuel system cleaner also added to fuel tank to ensure entire fuel system is cleaned

2 totally different procedures. The Fuel Injector cleaner that you pour into the gas tank cleans the injectors by running a weak detergant through the entire system. While the service at the dealer is a high pressure, concentrated detergent mixed with either gas or other fuel. They shut off the fuel pump and the vehicle will run off the solution. After the high pressure cleaning, they clean the throttle body and usually throw a gas additive into the tank.

As if it's worth it? If you have a rough idle, high speed misfire or notice a considerable loss in power and fuel mileage. Then it's a good idea. Otherwise running quality fuel that has a detergant should keep the car running right.

The dealer version, every 30K is a good idea, the Bottle kind? I don't believe in it.

The check engine light will come on if there is even the slightest issue of a misfire or sensor failure

so then i can trust the computer to do just that then? i didnt know if the computer would be that sensitive to noticed any little hick up... also the only 2 times i had filled her up since getting her both times computer stated like 266 mileage for the gas now useing 18 miles per gallon with 18 gallons gives me 324 for a full tank which i would see displayed on my 07 i had this one doesnt seem to be reading correctly and on my last full tank even saying about 266 for tank and with the low gas notice which comes around 44 miles left in tank i did get little over 300 for the tank of gas but i figured after full tank worth of driving and then getting this full tank i woulda seen 300 plus miles when i got the full tank...just wondering if maybe still recalulating new owner style of driving.. also how i know for sure the tire pressure sensor is giving me right reading i filled the tires up 2 times now since they where little under 32psi and at fast trac they have a pump that u can put in what ever number u want and then pump up and the machine will stop when ur at the number u pushed but seems the machine 32 will show 31 on my car computer granted maybe i should trust my car computer than a pump at gas station but u thinking when i get oil change at dealership make sure they check my tire pressure than compare to dashboard.. also i saw at a jewelery store temperture sign saying X degrees while my car said something like 4 or 5 degrees different again granted who knows how that store reads the outside temp compared to my car but just wondering if the car's computer would ever give false readings would my check engine light service light come on and therefore indeed the computer is whacked?

dont trust the cars computer for the mileage, just do the math. Also, never trust the PSI out of a public air compressor, use a tire gauge to verify

Ok,now your comparing apples to oranges. The computer for the Driver Info center is not the same as the one that runs the motor. The distance of Mileage till empty will vary depending on what that computer sees for average fuel mileage. Next time you fill up, reset the average fuel mileage and the fuel used entries. The distance till empty will change but won't be really accurate until you drive for a few miles. And by accurate, GM means +/- 4 MPG.

And the outside temp gauge sensor is mounted just before the radiator. it does pick up some radiant heat from the radiator when sitting and will get a wind chill effect when driving. Compare that to one on a bank or store sign that is a stable sensor, the readings will be slightly off.

Yes, the PCM will pick up any little hick up, but it won't set a code until it sees the issue more than twice between 2 conscutive drive cycles. Unless it is a drastic enough issue that will cause damage to the catalytic convertor, then it will set the code instantly and turn the light on. As for False readings, if it happens once it will set a pending code but not turn the light on, if it doesn't happen again within the next 3 ignition cycles, it will assume that it was just a glitch and delete the pending code. If it does happen, then it will set a code. And there is a code for internal PCM failure, so if it runs the self diagnostic and there is something odd in the computer itself, it will turn the light on.

Tire monitors are in yet another Module. Each TPM sensor in the wheel is calibrated to that module in a zero pressure state from the factory. Gas station gauges, those cheap push in style, even the $5.99 digital gauges are not as accurate. The gauge I use at work is 3 psi off from GM sensors. Best thing to do is buy a decent gauge and compare it to the TPM readings on the dash when it reads the correct psi and compare the 2. Just use the same gauge from now on.

u the man lol thanks
i do reset my average miles per gallon each refil and when i did with my 07 it always would show at least like 325 or more per full tank this 06 been saying like 250 260 range and never gos up til after drving 75 or so miles when it actually gets around 250 left it then starts to decress normal but never seems to adjust yet and been showing like 14 or so miles per gallon even thou i dont think thats possible lol when had 07 i knew i was like 18-20 per gallon since i would open her up on highway on way home from work but this job im only few miles down road at from 35 to 45 mile per hour roads.. just wondering why it hasnt seem to adjust correctly

city driving and hiway driving will give you different MPG, and it may take a bit longer to correct itself because your not driving the same distance as before.

Plus remember this, Were on Winter blend gas untill the middle of this month, so the added ethynol and other additives will cause your MPG to drop about 5-10%.

ahh didnt know that about winter gas cool thanks.. cause on last fill up when stated like 260ish for a full tank and when i added the trip when i resetted with full tank i did get over 300 when added to the origial 260ish it stated before.. but this tank was like 250ish and when i add what i have driven so far on my trip (not trip trip but trip odometer lol) to what its stateing i have left it is actually right about what it stated around 250ish odd.. first time i got like 300or so when stated 260ish now stated like 250ish on this full tank and from whats left and what my trip shwoing ive driven its added to the 250ish.. maybe second time around i got winter x2 gas lol.. but either way ill keep eye on it and like u said maybe its cause the "winter gas".. right now showing im averageing like 13/14 miles per gallon.. umm yuk i thought when i had my 07 and raced it on the highway at 100 plus every day on way home from work and getting 18/19 miles per gallon was bad lol.. wonder if obama is doing the trade ur gas hog in for a new one still lol

Can't go by the computer for actual, Got to work it out by physical amount of miles divided by actual gallons.
