Weather looking perfect. Why do I always have so much to get done before I go away for a few days. Not only with the Monte and trailer but with house and work stuff? Almost like your being punished for going away....
Preparing for Carlisle today. Last minute touchups on the Monte as long as it's on the lift. Load it into the trailer, pack a few things and off to GMC in the late morning. The weather still looks perfect. Maybe the best weather we ever had for this event......
Well have fun guys I won't be making this one maybe next year.

All packed, car is loaded, going out to breakfast with the boys and then leaving for GMC around 11. Still PERFECT weather forecasted. Hope a lot more of you guys can make it next year. This is my favorite show by far...........
Had a great time as always. By far my favorite show. Had a great turnout of Montes. First gen guys had 31 cars there. Sure hope they go back to the real judging though. Next up is Super Chevy where I clearly expect to be disrespected but I'm going anyway cause it is my second favorite show. Waiting for John about a show near him in Orange County NY that may end up to be my third favorite show.....
We will look into the Holiday Inn as well as the Fairfield Inn that the 1st gen guys stay at. It's about 5 miles down route 81. I may stay there for Corvette Carlisle just to check it out. My room at the Quality Inn was clean and smelled good. Never had a bad room there in all the years between GM and Corvette Carlisle. I'm sure other hotels may be better but I like the convenience of the Quality Inn. Doesn't hurt to check the other hotels though. With a lot of them there are trailer parking issues that effects some of us. Not sure yet how the Holiday Inn parking lot is laid out. I will see if I can get a perspective in late August when I'm there for Corvette Carlisle. It does have a poops next door and Hoss's across the street so those are two positives.
There is a 2013 show survey on the Carlisle site. I left feedback regarding the move from professional judging to peer judging, (I prefer the professional judging myself).
Bumping Super Chevy hotel info for anyone interested.
Congrats on all the winners. Good to hear they have a comment box on the show. I too was not a fan of the participant judging. I might not have minded it soo much but to judge 20+ classes in an afternoon is insane and leads to people just picking cars instead of people actually stopping and looking at them.
I hear ya. I judged half and Frank judged the other half. Then we just copied each others. I seen one of the Camaro guys filling out 8 judging sheets. Apparently none of his buddies wanted to be bothered. So there were eight forms with the exact same picks. I'm sure that could have made the difference in winners and losers. It is a bad system and is not a fair system and it doesn't belong at a National level show....
BUT, I love the venue and will continue to go every year.

the Dorman show was the same damn thing. People voting that did not even have cars here. i told them about it for next year to give only the people that paid to be in the show a voting balad.
i know it is not a national show, but the same thing happened as what you are describing Kevin

Will do, im surprised by the survey. Did they really have a dyno, swap meet, drag racing and all that other stuff? I remember seeing signs for the autocross.

I wasn't a fan of participant judging either, like Tim said, just too much to try and do on a hot afternoon. Me and Devin just started putting down the first car we saw in each class, or skipped stuff we didn't want to walk to. But we at least judged the montes fairly

I saw the dyno setup, and the swap meet was 100's of vendors in the back lol...he drag racing they speak of is the track we went into, and I didn't even get to see the green monte they were using for the autocross, I know Tim got a picture of it, I'm sorry I missed that.
Ok, im really convinced now there is too much for one day lol
